Has anyone else noticed that Nick's spiel asking people to apply for Countdown (typically read just after the first commercial break) is just a recording? Every time it's played, he makes pauses/hesitations in the same places, most notably saying "If you'd like to become a -- a Countdown contestant".

Indeed, he always says Contestants' Applications when the caption says Contestant.

Both. I know he's a friend of yours (or at least acquainted) - mildly disappointed he didn't show up to London now...
