If Denis wins today, or scores more than 62 points, he will qualify for the final.

I believe it's more than 61. 62 should get him there.

1st numbers alt:

(100 - 4) x 9 = 864; 864 - 9 - 6 = 849.

numbers that carol missed:

100 / 4 = 25
x 10 = 250
8 + 7 + 2 = 17

250+ 17 = 267

Almost the same as Matt's for numbers 2 :

((100 x 10) / 4 ) + (8 + 7 + 2)

I tried to make 89 x 3 but failed !

Todays and tomorrows shows were actually recorded in the morning, ( being the last shows of the current series), with the quarter-finals starting in the afternoon,so he would have missed the cut-off point.

I can't believe no one got TEAPOTS in round 11. For shame!

I bet I managed the most convoluted method of getting 267.

(100+4)/(8/2)=26
26X10=260
260+7=267

I guessed as much, Richar^H^H^H^H^H^HPhil Hammond's spot didn't make much sense on mid-afternoon TV!

How many shows are filmed each day?

You can usually tell by how many shows a DC guest does. By that reckoning, it's usually four or five.

That's strange. I was talking to Patricia Jamieson, the number 8 seed, and she said that she'd watched the recording of today's programme in the knowledge that her appearance in the finals depended on the result. She said that she only got the number 8 seed position because one of the players she had watched missed by 2 points.

Finally got to watch the show. Annoyed with myself for missing COMPILERS. I'd seen COMPLIES and sensibly rejected COMPLIERS. With COMPLIES I'd certainly have extended it.

I wonder if Denis was aware of the 62 target while he was playing. 10 points on that last numbers game and he'd have been there.

I've also just watched the show, and have another alternative for "the one Carol missed":-
(8x2x10)+100+7 = 267.

Also, did anyone else spot that in Round 3 both contestants declared 7, Lynne was asked first, said FOOTING and showed Des her paper. Denis then also said FOOTING. Can anyone explain that?

Please ignore this question as Lynne has done the same today (Weds.3rd) when the 2 contestants had different words.

Hmm..I wonder if she misread the contestant rules or is a bit nervous and isn't thinking straight.
