Spoilers for Wednesday 26 July 2017

Post by Rhys Benjamin »

John made a right pig's ear of the third numbers, don't know why he didn't see the rather easier 9 x 5 x 10 + 8 + 7 - 1.

Rachel appears to be wearing an ice lolly today.

...he got it right?

I don't give a shit if he went into the millions - if he gets the right answer, it's not a pig's ear...
Possibly the first contestant to accelerate with a mic clipped...

I disagree. The target was fairly obviously a multiple of 8 and of 16, so that seems a natural first strategy to try, especially when you've got an 8 in the selection (which led me quickly to my solution of (10*5+9-1)*8).

Tis, yep.
He Hansforded Tuesday's one as well, but to better effect.

Sort of tarnishing my view of him a bit.

Another 3rd nos. solution was ((10 x 5) + 8) x (7 + 1)

I think "making a meal out of it" is probably a more appropriate phrase for situations like this.

(9 x 7 - 5) x 8
Anything more than four numbers is making a meal of it.

And I assume he thought the conundrum was LITERALLY, buzzed, and realised his mistake. Not a true Hansford.
