The answer seems pretty obvious to me, but shouldn't the question be:-

All spots for the Series 77 finals are now claimed, and there are still seven heats left in the series. If someone wins the next seven games and loses the first heat of series 78, and seven wins proves to be enough to make it into the Series 78 finals, can this person be entered into the Series 78 finals, even though they wouldn't have qualified for the Series 77 finals?
I don't see why not -- at the point when they carry over beyond the Series 77 finals, they become a Series 78 contestant.
And the points from their eighth (losing) game count towards their total.

Tom to beat eoin by 35 points

My prediction:
Tom will beat Graeme, can imagine Graeme scoring around 45-60, whilst I'm sure Tom will go past a century.
Similar story with Bradley v James- James will get around 50-65, whilst I re-iterate my previous comment about Tom regarding Bradley.
John v Michael, think this will be quite close, with John winning by 5-20 points, but a surprise by Michael isn't ruled out.
Noel v Eoin, closest of them all I think, will most likely go to a crucial, could go either way but my money's on Noel.

Tom v Noel, Tom to beat Noel by around 20-30 points.
Bradley v John, Think Bradley will beat John by around 20-25 points, but wouldn't be a huge surprise if John gets Brad.

Final: Tom v Bradley- Tom to win by around 30 points.

Think Bradley's better than you give him credit for, I'd be very surprised if anyone other than Tom toppled him - and even then I think Bradley at least will run him very close.

Can there be a prize for most accurate predictions?

Having watched/been involved in them all, I can say they're great. I'm biased though.

I will say though, Rufus Hound is awesome. Probably the best thing about the finals.

Noel, I think we should just be done with it and tell them which of us wins...
...I mean the thread title does say 'will contain spoilers' after all! ;)

:::SPOILER ALERT:::

Semi-Final 1 will contain at least one Irish man. :o

Yep, actually think that my final prediction was a bit generous in Tom's direction, and perhaps would lower my estimation by about 10 points, meaning that Tom will probably win by about 20 points. Agree, that it could be close, but think that Tom (just) has the advantage in the letters over Bradley (who's letters are definitely not be sniffed that).

Sorry for dredging up an old topic, but... does anyone know - these medals and badges; is there an easy way of working out whether a newly declared word on TV earns one?
