Was nowhere near the 728 solution in the 2nd numbers (89% difficulty, and Mark's solution above is the only one that exists!), but I did get 727 as a beater via (75 * (2 + 3) + 1) * 2 - 25.

Rob mentioned at the start of the programme that he had done charity work in Uganda; it turns out he also wrote a book about it. Very admirable stuff.

Can't have power cuts without some kind of mains so he did pretty well by comparison to like 99% of the country. I spent a month there and had no power at all until week three when I bought a solar panel off an Egyptian hat salesman in a straw boater, cargo shorts and a red sarong. 50000 shillings. Worth it for that sentence alone.
