I chickened TEAHOUSE as well as MORALISER. In different cirumstances I probably would have risked them both.

Still got 8 maxes though. James had some excellent spots (CATHOUSE in particular) that made the game more interesting as well.

Good game. I think some people underestimated James a bit by how much they were predicting Stephen would win by, but after a slow start I think he gave a good account of himself. But well played both, and I'm looking forward to the rest!

I got 800 in R9 at the last second, but then forgot my method. It ended up being the same as Rachel's though.

I really enjoyed playing the quarter final - thanks Stephen and Gavin for the nice comments! As had only just filmed the other rounds the days before, it felt for the first time like I could just play as I would normally at home!
Stephen was just incredible; I was very privileged to get to play against him and I wish him well in the rest of the finals!
I was particularly pleased with CATHOUSE, but was certainly an interesting game!

(Also VULGATE for a beater in R2) :)

Excellent play both. TEGULAE as a beater in r2 as well.
CATHOUSE was a very good spot under pressure from James, I was chuffed to spot it at home, not sure if I would have done in the studio!
An exciting contest for sure, I look forward to more!
