Nice to see three of these threads all posted at about the same time! I think this was first though, so I'll use this one.

I don't normally listen to Origin of Words, but was the person who wrote in called John Canada? That's what it sounded like to me. As in like Johnny Canuck. And did she say to snuff it meant to be murdered? Because it's generally used to mean to die generally. In fact it comes across as a "passive" thing, so murder would be a bit of a strange usage. Also, no-one ever says "Up to snuff". Not a thing.

Sorry, no banana -- the sender's name was "John Callander", as could be seen in the 4oD subtitles.
I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

I believe Dave was previously on in Series 44. He's definitely old enough to have been...

BUSTLINE r8
Interesting on the 679 solution it sounded as though 97*7 wasn't the full solution and he just stopped when Rachel said '679'. I think he possibly miscalculated the 97*7 and managed to just play it off when Rachel said 97*7=679.

Thought I recognised Dave straight away but from another quiz/game show and can't think which.
Sam said he would stick with a 6 in the unsubtle round, maybe that's what he had. DC not mentioning it and only declaring 7s made it look like it wouldn't have been in.

UNSUBTLE was a really obvious miss (an unsubtle miss?) and when I saw that three spoilers threads had been started simultaneously I assumed that that must have been the trigger.
