Spoilers for Tuesday 28th October 2014

Post by Jack Worsley »

OK, Jordan is absent for the next few days, so I'll have a go at starting a spoilers thread for the first time, yay! :)

George Ford (George Pryn to apterites) is doing very well with three wins to his name so far, can he make it to half octochampdom today? Can maintain his run of centuries too and even his record of one sky high four large solution per show?

Dave Myers is replaced in DC by sports broadcaster John Inverdale for the next five shows.

Join Callum for the recap later, which will be some time this century, if we're lucky. :D

From my Scrabble sources our opponent today is Kathy Richland (was Suddick). She recently married Series 4 Number one seed Robert Richland. Robert is now a delivering post as a postman in the Warrington area.

I feel as though Kathy was lost from the first round :-(

Did you mean URINATES+E for ESTUARINE?

The next consonant would have been an R but still no nine although URINATES goes with a B, C, D, G, M, N, S even a Q would have been useful ;-)

For those who study word lists: URBANITES, TRUANCIES, INDURATES, SIGNATURE, ANTISERUM, RUMINATES, SATURNINE, SUSTAINER and QUANTISER (to name but a few!!)

South African words to the rescue again TAMBOTIE for a beater in R4 Shame Kathy went for a final consonant in round 12 or it would have been a 9 with ANCHORITE. Loved the 2nd 4L solution -nice one George!

Not as bad as the MEANDERS round - had I gone for a vowel it would've given the classic oleanders! & Thanks :)

Yes, new addition to the ODO, well done.

Well done again, George, still no sign of the four large madness ending. :P

DEMERSAL in round 7, KOFTAS in round 8, NOTCHER in round 12 and ENTISOLS in round 13.

3rd Numbers Alt.: (25 x 8) + 75 + 1 + (100 / 50) = 278
