David Stanford keeps on winning, despite having under 500 points through 6 wins. Perhaps he will eventually reach a certain notorious record. Nevertheless, it is 6 wins, and if he gets a 7th, he'll have a decent chance of making the finals. Can he do it?

Join James for the recap later.

I think David is going to be like England at the World Cup, he's going to reach the finals, but has no chance of winning them!

I had never heard of Martin Lewis before, but fair play, to be the most annoying DC guest of the week when your rival is Janet Street-Porter is a masterly achievement.

It sometimes happens if there is a 9 early on the rest goes a bit flat: maxes 18, 6, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 6, 7, 7

As Countdown clashes with DCDL directly this week I wondered when both shows would have the same target at the same time for the numbers game.
Today it actually happened: while we had 706 to make from 100, 6, 5, 8, 8 and 7 the French contestants had 706 to make from 8, 7, 10, 7, 5 and 10. Both were fairly easy solves :-)

At least I didn't have to fast forward through the guest bit today!

Another way to achieve 789: (50+3-2)x(9+5)+75

Anyone else, apart from me, notice the extension during the end credits today :?: :?: I thought something different must've happened to them when I noticed the extended music with no explanation, when I went across to the studio 2 weeks ago, but had no idea it was for that invention............ 8-) :geek: :ugeek:

IMPOSE in round 2, NATTERS/RANKEST in round 12.

If you mean the rolling email contact, twitter link and C4 web link at the bottom of the screen that used to be shown during Susie's talkie spot... then yes :-)

Re:Martin Lewis, I have to admit, it was a bit nauseating listening to the penny pinching tips of a bloke who sold his website for £87 Million!
