Nice quiet show today - nobody shouting at Rachel that she was hiding the letters board as she put the letters up.

Round 13: Don't understand why Susie allowed CAPITOLS?

Although listed in all lowercase, it's also listed as *US* on the ODO ... plus it neither lists it as a verb nor noun.

??!!??

When the ODE was used, American words were fine (SIDEWALK, MAILBOX etc.) but American spellings were not (COLOR, TRAVELED etc.). Now that the ODO is being used, there is some extra confusion because we are referred to some entries from the US English dictionary (e.g. MACROLIDE, BIGEMINY) - it says 'Entry from US English dictionary'. These are not allowed.

However, CAPITOL is found in the regular English (UK) dictionary. And whilst it is a US word, it is not a US spelling (what would the equivalent British spelling be?), meaning it is allowed. And it's obviously a noun.

Yeah, was slightly surprised they missed MITIGABLE, considering they spotted IMITABLE, but hey-ho.

PARROTED/PRORATED/TEARDROP in round 5, LOURING in round 8 and APSIDES in round 12.

And because (4x8)-6 = (3x6)+8, you could also do ((75x4)+6)x(10-7)+8 but also out of time - and showing off a bit, sorry ;)

Thanks Conor! Good enough for me but the ODO still doesn't distinguish between "meaning what it says" and "saying what it means", it's too open for misinterpretation in it's definitions and needs so careful reading and understanding.
