Spoilers for Thursday May 29th 2014 (S70 P91)

Post by Jordan F »

Samir Pilica got his sixth win, and also clinched a spot in the finals yesterday. He can move up to a clear number 3 seed today with a win, and he'll probably get there anyway. Can he be only the third person this year to get a 7th win?

((9 + 4) x 25 + 1) x (4 - 1) = 978 to beat Rachel in R6

Think Samir was lucky to come up against a slightly weaker opponent today, not his best performance, but still fully deserving of a place in finals all things considered.

Until early April, it looked like quite a weak series, but we now have at least 5 very good players in the finals.

Samir's words and numbers performances are very similar to Neil Green's, and if Countdown didn't have numbers rounds you could make a good case for saying that Mark Murray would only be 3rd favourite for the series.

However, I think Samir's and Neil's only hope of actually beating Mark in the finals will be in a game of piss easy numbers rounds.

I actually had given Steve a few pointers on Twitter in the days before this record. Shame I had no idea he'd be up against Samir :!: :!: :P :P

POLITIES in round 10, MAGENTAS/MAGNETOS in round 11, SORDINO in round 12 and EXACTOR in round 13.

3rd Numbers Alt.: (2 x 3 x 75) - (4 x 9) = 414
4th Numbers Alt.: ((9 + 7 + 3) x 100) / 4 = 475

Alt. 1st numbers: (50 + 75) * 2 + 10 + 9
Alt. 3rd numbers: (25 + 75) * 4 + 9 + 3 + 2
Alt. 4th numbers: (100 - 9 + 4) * (2 + 3)
I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

Starting to annoy me slightly that Samir always picks 2L and then seems to be not that good at that selection, but luckily sometimes, it seems, better than his opponent.

I seemed that Samir didn't sleep so well overnight.... I know the feeling.

Another alt. 3rd numbers: ((25 + 75 + 3) * 4) + 2
It was a 'first game of the day' wasn't it?
