DUN is listed as an adjective in ODE3, but DUNNER and DUNNEST are missing from the apterous ODE lexicon, which looks like an error.

Same, I believe, goes for NULLER and NULLEST.

It's not a US spelling. Dictionary says "crenellate ... (also crenelate)".
