It has officially been a year...

Post by Ben Wilson »

...Since the last podcast (okay, a year and a bit). Since Charlie's now 8 time zones away I can imagine putting one together might be difficult but dammit, I'm still going to demand in an annoying fashion.

+1. I never gave much of a fuck about the previous ones, listening to Charlie and Jono witter on like a couple of self-important prats in a makeshift studio. Now that I've met them and figure they're actually a bit of alright, I quite fancy a new, relevant one.

These are the first few, and there are a couple more (two episode 7s, funnily enough) that you can find easily in the forum search.

I hear episode 5 is by far the best.

I think the numbering was done by the people who named Windows 7.

Are the podcasts still available anywhere? None of these links work any more:

http://www.apterous.org/podcast/
http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~calr3/aptocast/aptocast_1.mp3
http://www.jononeill.com/podcast/

(Saw FAPTEROUS* available in a selection on Countdown this morning and it reminded me of the Jo Bolas segment of one of the podcasts).

I still have all of them, might be able to upload them somewhere. I still say new ones are needed. I nominate zarte and Graeme to host them. :p

Depends on whether or not Jono or Charlie would object- it's their work, after all, I wouldn't want to tread on their toes.

Having never heard the original ones, I don't know exactly what it is that you're trying to commit me to...
Possibly the first contestant to accelerate with a mic clipped...

I expect I'd be embarrassed by them now, but would definitely be curious to hear them again anyway. I can probably host them somewhere if you can get them to me.

Cool- some of them are fairly large (episode 1 is over 60MB) so temporary ftp access may be the quickest way of doing this, or I can try to upload them to a subfolder on my website.

I've got
  • c4c podcast - episode 8.mp3 (23.6 MB)
  • ep7 (25.7 MB)
  • aptocast_1 (16.1 MB)
I actually thought I'd either deleted them all or kept them all, so surprised to find just those three but then each of them was in a different folder, sometimes on different hard drives, in a variety of seething unsorted masses of thousands of MP3s. I may have more but sounds like Ben is sorted.

The always-awesome Graeme Cole has kindly offered to host the podcasts on his website, so here they are- http://greem.co.uk/aptopodcasts/

Listen away (if you dare)! :)

Yay! Thanks Ben, Graeme, Charlie and Jono - catching up on the ones I missed from the short-lived Netdown era :)
