C4C Logo Contest

Post by Charlie Reams »

You may have noticed that I recently (accidentally) deleted the picture of Rachel and Jeff from the header, and his seems like a good opportunity for the long overdue creation of an official C4C logo. I know plenty of you are artistically minded and could easily outdo anything I can produce, so this is your chance to shine. You're welcome to submit original designs, collaborate, or adjust other people's submissions; it's a completely open group process.

The current default "logo" is 139x52, but I think anything up to 64px high and more or less any width will be fine; we can replace the header text if your logo incorporates sufficient information.

The winner of the contest will be announced at 23:59 on 31 July.

Go!

Maybe someone could do nice graphics for each of the sub-forums as well.

Also the graphic that means "you have read all the topics in this forum" is fucked on proSilver.

It's not so much fucked, as missing. But don't you find it so much easier without them? It's unnecessary really and neater without.

I think it looks all uneven. Perhaps because it's not what I'm used to. But yeah, it looks all jagged. I prefer it to look tabulated. Of course you probably have no red ones cos all you ever do is refresh the home page.

Haha, good abuse. But yeah, it's not jagged on mine at all. Where the red icons were there is now just gap. I definitely prefer it. Like so:

The only gayness is the elsewhere-mentioned too-small Events icon. Next stop Jagged Central:

What I mean is, where you have two nice reds and then two nice gaps, I have like, a red and a gap in one box, then two reds and three gaps and it just looks untidy to me.

Agree about the events logo though. I've lost my dodgy copy of Photoshop so I probably won't even be able to enter the competition. :(

So if something really great is happening that evening, you'll have to turn it down to post the winner. Also, when will you start writing the post to make sure it's ready to be submitted during the correct minute?

I don't think he said where or to whom it would be announced. He could announce it during the hypothetical really great somethings.

As long as he's told us that that's when voting closes and after that time our votes* [*read his vote] won't count but we may still be charged he's in the clear, isn't he?

And the winner is...? ;-) Not that I entered, I'm just keen to see the new artwork...

Of course, there are still a few hours to go if Charlie's working to his new local timezone.

Charlie, are you just trying to stay ahead of Matt Morrison in terms of posts you've liked? This was just a normal post.

Suspect Charlie would be in line for a letter from the offices of Channel 4 for using the logo, despite utterances everywhere else that there is no affiliation or officialness.
