FAO Charlie Reams

Post by Jon Corby »

Mate, just got to say how much I love this forum.

Despite the love I have for it, I would never be arsed to set it up and maintain it, not to mention all the other Countdown gubbins online that I enjoy on pretty much a daily basis.

So, cheers. You are an utter legend. If I ever meet you I will buy you a beer. (Not one of those expensive continental ones though)

I HEART CHARLIE REAMS.

Soo Reams is OK, but Cesc Fabregas is hugely overrated. Fact.

Yes, I had trouble communicating with him at first but then he began to understand me more and more. This is because he has replied to threads I have started, as well as threads I have replied to.

I like him very much.

Appreciated muchly, especially as I'm currently at a low ebb with the whole exam preparation thing. I'd like to claim that threads like this make all the hours worth it, but in truth I get enough out of running this place that I could justify it purely on selfish grounds. Still take you up on that beer though.

PS: The Countdown Corral celebrates its fourth birthday on 9 May.

You are not the "you" so why should you?

Who is the "you"? I took it to mean "you" plural, but since you know differently, it must be you! What a detective I am.

Gavin, you know, you're absolutely right!

Now, someone seriously please tell me, why?

The thread subject is something of a clue as to who the "you" is. I don't know what the rest of you are doing in here, quite frankly. If there was some kind of private messaging system where I could have privately sent a private message to Charlie which he could have read privately, I would have used that mechanism, but this was the best I could do.

(Although some other people will know "why" actually.)

AFAIK FAO *** on a public forum post is supposed to mean that you particularly want that person to read it, not that everyone else should butt out.
Privacy is what PMs and emails are for.

However netiquette is still its infancy, so it's all a matter of opinion.
BTW for a jokey look at forum behaviour: http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-beh ... rnet-forum

Can I also add a thank you and well done to Charlie - great forum! :D
