I was here last year, you saw plenty of me then, although under a different suedoughnimm. And Charlie called me a cunt first. Or was it a twat? Who knows? Everything is so confusing right now.

That's true, Richard(ysw) - and he's starting to show potential. Just need to stop him yelling 'smor-ZANDOOOOOOO' on his vinegar stroke.

Can anyone direct me to some clips of Mark Nyman playing as a contestant on Countdown online?
But there several clips on YouTube of Mark Nyman in dictionary corner but not as a contestnat.

Dunno, they just seem good. Upon reflection, Eoin Monaghan beat Daniel Pati and Adam got in without Chris or Eamonn, so don't know what happened. Just pick one of the 5s. Quite sure the 1-4s aren't out of place, though.

Adam was the guy who beat me, so naturally I must agree with Thomas's choice here.

Daniel Pati was a huge talent who took Countdown by surprise, as this game testifies- http://wiki.apterous.org/Episode_5104

I remember him saying before that he was going to be beaten but to be honest I thought Adam was going to pip him in that final.

Edward always said that he was surprised to win all the time on the show, but in terms of play he came across to me as more impressive than Adam and although he was number 2 seed, I thought he was favourite going into the final.

Kirk, you were very good too, there has been so many great players since you have been on as well, my top 5 would be You, Jack Hurst, Craig Beevers, Julian Fell and maybe Andrew Hulme as well, I would naturally rate you in my top 5 because seeing you on the TV doing so well made me think, 'it would be cool if I could be good as well' :)

I think the best series was series 61, now there was 4 very impressive players. No series has had that amount of great players since then although there is usually 1 or 2.

Haha, but there has just been so many impressive players on there recently, although you would also fit into one of the ones that impressed along with Jack, I can think of 15 good/excellent players in the past 5 series, Mark Murphy (the guy who played wankers) is definitely not one of them.

Jack is very good but I wasn't impressed as such. I was impressed with your consistency and word knowledge. You had an air of authority and unbeatability about you that didn't come across with Jack, in my opinion.

And for 2 players like you 2 who played the obscure words, it was certainly interesting seeing dictionary corner work for their money verifying the words :)

No doubt that it's true, and she meant in sexual habits. I wasn't drunk enough to pry further.

Who am I?
I am David Barnard from Herefordshire, I am 20 years old. I like golf (play off a 3 handicap), darts (only for the drinking), countdown (obviously) and scrabble (good banter). I am a member of another forum (it's to do with golf) and am one of the most prolific posters on there (2nd most posts in the country).
My facebook profile is here http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php? ... 0259082415 so if you are thinking I am someone having a joke I'm not, heres proof.

Does that answer your question? :D :D

Best ever is Edward McCullagh because he beat me. Chris Davies is immense too. My knowledge of Countdown history is nowhere near as extensive as most people who have submitted their responses though, I expect. I vaguely remember being wowed by Kai Laddiman's skill when he was on, too, but that may have been principally because he was so young. I only watched Countdown in dribs and drabs between finishing primary school and the end of Oli Garner's series, when I started watching regularly again.

C2: SEATING (7)

Another niner for Adam and yet another century. Well done, that man."
