Not really a mention, but a weird coincidence.

DC regular (although he hasn't been on the show in nearly 2 years) Martin Jarvis is about to take up a role on EastEnders, as the possible love interest of Pat & Peggy.

Nothing interesting in that, you may think, but what's interesting and Countdown-related is the name of his character that he's going to play.

It's Harvey Freeman, who is of course one of the biggest names ever to feature in the history of the show :!:

Spooky. Maybe Jarv demanded that he have a Countdown-related name.

My brother texted me and said "did you wear a blue shirt on any of your episodes on Countdown?" I replied saying yes and he said "I think you're in Nuts".

A couple of days later I bought the magazine "Nuts" and looked through it - no Countdown there. It must have been the previous edition (I bought 5-11 Mar 2010 so I reckon it must be in 26 Feb - 4 Mar). Anyway I told him I couldn't find it in this edition and what was it about - he said it involved a swear word. I didn't have any swear words so it wasn't me. It turns out that the word was ARSE which was on one of Innis' shows and he was wearing a blue shirt. I suppose he does look a bit like me from a distance. :?

So, Innis, fame for you at last...sandwiched between two ladies touching their breasts with a can of tuna between their legs.

Aye, saw this as well (from the short glimpse I had the score was something like 76-0 to Moss - I LOLed). Friday 25th June is the date for your diary (dunno if the Countdown episode is the first one of the series, mind).

Have you applied to be a contestant, Ryan? Has anybody ever been a contestant on both versions? (this might be a question that would even stump James)

The wiki reveals that at least two people have, namely Tricia Pay and Pierre Sandrini.

I am watching Big Brother live and after 11 days the housemates have just realised 'Bob Righter' is an anagram of 'Big Brother'. When explaining what an anagram was to someone, one of the housemates said the words "like Countdown". That is all.

Why am I watching Big Brother you may ask? Because I love it.

Just saw this on YouTube, a fantastic 1990 celebrity edition of Fifteen-To-One. Richard and Carol and many other TV quiz brains of the time are the contestants. Quite a few DC guests as well. Clearly taken light-heartedly, but it's fantastic viewing.

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D5dxjW92go

Richard's answer at the start of part 3 I think is fantastic.

On Friday 10th December, Countdown will feature on Coronation Street. Scenes which will appear on the programme were recorded in the studio yesterday.

The only real spoiler as far as the Countdown programme itself is concerned, is that viewers will get a preview of what Jeff, Rachel and Susie will be wearing on the programme to be shown on the following Tuesday.

As you might know, it is December 10th tonight, and Corrie On Countdown was on during The Big 50.

Interesting seeing Carol Smilie in DC too. Does that mean she's coming on the show soon :?:

And then secod in terms of NASA sending pensioners to space - Countdown-watching0habits being one of the problems therwith.

Give it 10 years and you'll truly see something entertaining about men kicking a ball around a field. ;-) For a closer view I suggest revising the rules - female linesmen are really popular nowadays.

I thought the new series was great and Jon Richardson was good as new team captain and Sean Lock was as awesome as ever.

If you were meaning Rachel's part in the show then yeah it wasn't standout but you expect it. It must be extremely difficult to be put on a comedy panel show when you are not a comic. You're bound to look unfunny in the company that she was in (and it happens all the time with even bigger celebrities). She wasn't really given a role in the show since there were 4 comedians and then Alex Reid who wasn't there to be funny but more just as the object to be ridiculed by everyone else. Rachel could have improved her performance though by taking a leaf out of Alex Reid's book at the end (the bit were Alex got his nipple out).
