Got a filming date. Sunday 19 April, into Monday 20 April.

I know for a fact this is either the very end of S72 or the beginning of S73, as they've talked about filming for the finals being in October/November.

Defo beginning of S73, as they're recording the S72 finals in 2 weeks time. :)

Seems strange that they've put the instructions for the top one on the front, usually they're on the label.

Oh, that'll not be a problem. Matt has more experience than I when it comes to T-shirt design and would advise with more authority, but I reckon anything's possible these days.

No, it doesn't show up well against the blue set.

Transmission date is 15 June, programme #1 of Series 73.

Audition passed, told will be filming sometime in October /November, did not feel I did that well in audition though, messed numbers up both times and 1 out of two conundrums, guess they look more towards letters rounds. maybe the rare nine from me swung it.

hmm, I didn't know this thread existed.

Good luck Martin... S77 needs a top numberist. :)
Though, won't the transmission date be later than that?

I'm recording 2 days before you... on the 7th, and based on the DC guest info, it seems the show will air on Sept 28th.

Thanks guys,

I don't practice Countdown as much as I used to due to time constraints and as such, don't get a chance to play on Apterous. But my numbers game is still reasonably powerful, my 4L game has improved since if anything. I'm trying to learn lists of words and stems from well-known words and suchlike in preparation. Going on Countdown is a (near enough) lifelong ambition of mine and I'm really looking forward to it (I'm already massively nervous as I've never been on TV before). As long as I don't embarrass myself, I'll be happy. A teapot would be rather nice as I've just moved house! :D

L'oisleatch McGraw - I got an email about a month back from Damian saying my transmission date was due to be the 17th but he did say that was subject to change. Michael Whitehall is the guest in Dictionary Corner for my first game, which I'm pleased with. :) I'm right at the end of a filming block so my second game (if I win my first) won't be filmed until the 4th September.

Yes, you are right of course... I was being dumb, misread what you wrote.
I'll be flying home on your recording date... so won't get to see how you do till telly.
I'm delighted that we're going to be S77 compadres.
With a little luck, we'll get to meet later on in the Series finals! :)

Btw, L'oisleatch McGraw = Eoin Jackson... just so u know.
(You might remember we used to play numbers attacks as apto-newbies back in Oct 2010!)

I definitely remember Eoin Jackson and definitely remember those numbers attacks and we used to have a little rivalry going. :) Hopefully, we'll both make the finals.

Bump.

My first application was in December 2020. No reply.
My second was in May 2021. No reply.
My third was in December 2021... there seemed to be no reply for a long while until
20th May 2021- I get an email from a researcher inviting me to take part in an audition.
24th May 2021- the audition will take place and I'm nervous as hell.

I'm normally quite patient but having passed my audition in May and being told my filming dates were possibly July or August.
Although they did say it wasn't a guarantee, however I have limited holiday time I can use this year for any filming, so I did wonder whether to email the team or should I just wait?

Took your advice about email.
Got a recording date (s) 22nd November also next 2 days if by some miracle I play 7 games or more.
I assume there is a couple of months, at least between recording and airing.
Off to buy some appropriate clothing as virtually everything I own is not appropriate 😊

Best of luck Marc!

Assuming you have, or will shortly be receiving, a fresh copy of the contestant guidelines, would you be kind enough to share the exact wording round comparatives, superlatives and single syllable adjectives? Comes up frequently and everyone always says "the guidelines say..." but not sure anyone knows what they actually do say!

Got confirmation that I film my episode on the 22nd.
Im being met at 11.45 so I don't know if that indicates what game in the days recording I will be on.
Very excited and nervous, they have my bank details though I'm slightly confused if they will put money in my bank before I buy the ticket
Fingers crossed there isn't a train strike as it will be a long couple of coach rides from Canterbury

Well they've just filmed coc which is 1st 3 weeks in January, so I imagine Monday will cover week 4, so you can work it out from your filming slot. But they'll tell you anyway (it's in the screens at the beginning if you look)

An amazing but sometimes surreal experience
Looking forward to it. Hope you enjoyed yourself

On a week when they are filming, 15 - they work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and film five shows per day. But they don't film every week.

I can concur as I've just been although it's only Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
