Joseph, I was about to wish you good luck, but I have a question.

Are you due to appear on Countdown anytime soon?

I'm confused, you talked about two different events in one thread.

I have already appeared on Countdown Jason.

Back in June 2003 I had my audition (I just turned 21 on the day) and then in June 2004 I had my recording. My game was then shown in August 2004.

Oh, so that was just a flashback.

Richard Whiteley was a darn nice man, wasn't he?

It was a long wait indeed. After about 11 months of waiting, I phoned up to find out when they wanted me and I got my recording in the end. I think if I didn't chase it up, I would've had a longer wait in store .

If I would have been there and he were still alive, I would have loved to meet Richard Whiteley.

That was my audition too. That last numbers game is so easy to get 1 away. I can't believe I was only 4 away in the audition. Inexperience mixed with nerves - a deadly combination. God knows how I passed - I think Marie felt sorry for me.

I actually got 5 away myself and got 363. My best was the 1st numbers, where I was only 1 away.

Actually I am just wondering now if it was alright to post these audition rounds, because I don't actually know if any of them are still used in todays auditions .

I believe they change it every 6 months or so, so you should be OK. (Even if they didn't, they will now! )

6. TREASURE (would not risk REPASTURE)
7. ABRIDGED
8. FORELOCK

PULMONARY
SUFFOCATE
ENERGETIC
If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

I got MORTUARY in rd 3. I maxed everything except LOVEBIRD (I had DEVILRY) and that last numbers game, (1 away). These auditions seem much easier now that I know the sort of words you're looking for... I'd have done much better at my audition if I was aware of the nature of the selections I reckon. Still, meh.

I don't know why, but whenever I post here I tend to be very nervous because I don't know what any of your feelings are going to be like at any given time.

The maximums for the word rounds were:

R01: CULIMNATE
R02: LOVEBIRD
R03: MORTUARY
R05: ROISTERED
R06: APERTURES
R07: ABRIDGED / BIRDCAGE / BRIGADED
R08: FORELOCK

Sorry Damian, but there were no typos with round 3's selection. I don't think you can have BIRDCAGED too for round 7 either.

It seems like forever has gone by since that time.

I still have memories of Richard Whiteley, though.

I notice you've managed to overcome these nerves 216 times already. Have you figured out how quotations work yet?
