Terrible news- I had the pleasure of meeting Joyce many times at scrabble events and she was always a formidable opponent and a friendly face.

Tremendously sad news. RIP to a true icon of word games, by all accounts a very talented individual.

Very sad news, a lovely lady and first ever series champion, RIP Joyce you will be sadly missed.

It appears also that she died on the same day as CoBlackpool took place.
