Can I go back on Countdown after 10 years?

I have a vague memory of hearing that you can go back on Countdown as a contestant if it's at least 10 years after your prior appearance.

Am I talking shit or is this actually a reality?

Been stranded on an island for nearly a decade but might return to the motherland next year and this is literally the only possible enjoyable thing I can envisage doing while there.

Don't see why you can't given that the current champ appeared in the same year as you :)

He can go back to his island any time he wants.

With it being you, I doubt you're serious anyway, but there's no precedent for letting a CoC contestant back is there?

I believe the official rule is no, but then again there are several returnees in recent years, so much so that it has de facto become such a rule. I would personally leave at least 15-20 years between appearances, and I am very surprised Zarte was allowed back on.

*shrug* I was surprised too.

There will probably be a bigger surprise if I get back on for a third time..., but the precedent has been set, so nothing can be ruled out nowadays, I guess...

I still assume that that was an accident, so I'd say there's no precedent yet. And you're too loud to be an accident.

How do you find out if you can go back on? Do you passively wait for Damian to tell you, constantly pester him, constantly send in new application forms or what?

When I did it the first time, I was expecting it to be rejected/hear nothing more from it, so to be told I had an audition was great, even though the person who did my audition only knew of my past experience when I told her at the audition...

 well I wouldn't say no! But I would be a big hypocrite, because I do think once you've made a finals that's your series on the show, shouldn't need a do-over. Would love to be on for a special if that ever came up, maybe we should have a fake wedding and get invited back ala Ryan/Michelle? ;)

It's real. Would be great to see you back on there and I can't see a reason for you to be turned down. Go for it.

Yusss! I've spent 10 years off the forum, too. Just to be on the safe side.

You did make a brief comeback in 2016 though.

Or just get a close family member to go on the show...

(If you're reading this, dad...)
