Countdown/Scrabble Champion

Post by James Robinson »

A very impressive story from today, Lewis Hamilton is not the only British World champion today.........

Series 57 champion Craig Beevers became only the second Briton after Mark Nyman in 1993, to win the World Scrabble Championships. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-30168522

Well done to him. ;) :) :D  8-)

I don't think you could point to a patch of games and say he was particularly exceptional there. He had two virtual walkovers against weak performances.

You can only beat who is put in front of you.

Well done to him!

Someone should write a program to generate WSC newspaper articles; I love how they're almost identical every year.

Many congrats, Craig. Just found out about it on tonight's ITV news. A superb achievement. 8-)

They were Beevers quotes about Conor, in case no-one got it.

Much as I keep a mental index of what's been said here, you're being a bit hard on us for not spotting that it was something Craig said six years ago.
