Re: Countdowners On Other Quizzes
As you may have known from a previous post in my thread, I went to a recording of a new Scrabble based quiz and it was presented by none other than Jeff Stelling.
i have to say bar the poor performance of the contestants (spoiler alert ), I ask you, XO and EY, the concept and format of the hour long show is a good one and with the right contestants could be a nice show pitched at the Countdown audience for a 4pm schedule.
Oh and there is money to be won, albeit hundreds rather than thousands but with two teams comprising of a member of joe public and a celebrity (Nina Wadja and Aled Jones ) I wouldn't mind giving it a bash.
As a contestant, not a celebrity, obviously

Re: Countdowners On Other Quizzes
Dan McColm made an appearance last night at my quiz. Sadly, it wasn't broadcast, but his team finished fourth, and didn't win the jackpot.

And last night Julian Fell turned up. He won his team a one-point bonus for getting the conundrum first, but they finished 8th= of twelve. If Tanmay Dixit turns up next week, my life will be complete.

Lol, she turns up to the Monday night one that I occasionally stand in at, and is likely to be at the one I'm running tonight too. Or did you know that already?JimBentley wrote:This quiz sounds amazing. Next you'll be telling us Melanie Beaumont's on your team or something!Ian Volante wrote:And last night Julian Fell turned up. Re: Countdowners On Other Quizzes
Sorry to bump this thread. I really wanted to start a thread on the new Channel 4 quiz Quiz Jury.
I think it's strangely addictive considering there is only about 40 questions in about an hour. It's got a Big brother or coach trip vibe and yet it's a quiz show.
Could someone please start a thread.

Re: Countdowners On Other Quizzes
There was an Anthony Williams on 15 to 1 today -- does anybody know if he's the same one who was on Countdown in Series 74, immediately after Paul's run?

Not a quiz, but Doug Roberts (the pirate guy from CD a few weeks ago) was on Watchdog after he complained that a supermarket gift set of 3 jars of jam was more than double the price of buying the three jars of jam individually.

Re: Countdowners On Other Quizzes
Also, the clue as to why it might be more expensive could be in the fact that it's a gift set. You always pay a premium for those sort of things. It's just typical Watchdog bear-shits-in-the-woods twattery. And have you ever seen C4's Supershoppers? It's even worse. Last time I watched, they had the earth-shattering story that goods cost more in motorway service stations, for fuck's sake.Ian Volante wrote:Well he's a fanny if he bought it. Think Stephen Briggs has just won £2,250 on Tipping Point. Only about 50% sure it's him though.
