Tumbleweed

Hello,

I propose that we start a game called Tumbleweed. The game is based on the gaps in time between posts. A point is available for every minute between posts - however, points may only be claimed in blocks of five. A bell is available for 30 minutes of inactivity but is worth 45 points. Posts must be made like "x weed", "x bells", etc. If a post is not a points claim, please start it with NOT A POINTS CLAIM or similar. No-one can claim points twice in a row, and anything like "This game is f***ing boring. Why the f*** does anone play this?" are treated as if they have not been posted, however the poster who gives the invalid post may not post another post directly afterwards. The punishment for incorrect points declarations is the loss of the number of points which you claim. Negative claims for points are added to the person's current score. Bells and weed cannot be claimed together, instead you must claims 30 weed for each set of 30 minutes.

Yours hopingthatsomeonewillactuallyplaythisly,

Joseph

NOT A POINTS CLAIM

SIMPLE RULES

Each minute since the last post is worth one point (a weed).

You can only claim points in multiples of five.

After half an hour you can claim 45 points in the form of a bell.

You cannot post twice in succession with claims for points.

You cannot post with a mixture of bells and weeds.

Simple enough for you?

On this other forum I populate (which I nicked the game from) it is very popular, they do like league tables and stuff.

NOT A POIN - whatever. This still makes very little sense.
The punishment for incorrect points declarations is the loss of the number of points which you claim. Negative claims for points are added to the person's current score.
You mean that if you wrongly claim for points, you don't get any? Negative claims for points? What? This needs to be at least six times clearer.
Bells and weed cannot be claimed together, instead you must claims 30 weed for each set of 30 minutes.
This makes no sense. I thought I could claim a bell for each set of 30 minutes.

If you declare 10 weed when only 5 minutes have elapsed, you lose 10 points. Also if you declare -100 weed then you

You can declare 4 bells if 120 minutes of inactivity occurs, but you cannot declare 2 bells and 20 weed after 1hr 20min of inactivity. You would have to declare 80 weed or just stick to 2 bells.

I'm going to hijack this thread, since what I'm about to do isn't worth creating a new thread for, and I don't want to interrupt a sensible thread for these purposes.

You know how when you edit a post, it will give the time of the edit, but only if another post has been made after it? And also that you can delete a post if no posts have been made after it? So, what will happen if I make another post immediately after this, then delete it and then edit this one? Also what would happen if I made another post after this one, edited this one, then deleted the next one, and edited this again? Let's find out!

Edit - interesting
Edit 2 - interestinger
Edit 3 - interestingest
Edit 4 - Just one time in total? Hmm
Edit 5 - disregard that, i suck cocks

So anyway, when I deleted the later message, I was able to edit the original one without it saying that it had been edited. But if I edited the original message before deleting the later one, it came up with the edit message. When I then deleted the later message the edit message stayed but stayed at one edit, however many times I then edited it.

(By the way, this is a points claim. I think it's enough to claim the title on its own.)

539 bells means this isn't taking off here I'm afraid, Joseph. Unless everyone was waiting for a decade to pass before claiming.

NOT A POINTS CLAIM: His apterous subscription expired October, and he's currently addicted to chess rather than Countdown. He was at COLIN though.

By the way, I'm still waiting for that decade to pass...

Why do I remember nonsense like this? Whenever someone says something like "you'll forget about this by tomorrow", I seem to remember it forever. Otherwise I forget things all the time.
