I don't remember if he used the name, but certainly I became aware that such a thing existed, at the end of October 2010. re: names - forum posts are indexed by google. Many people would prefer that, if (for example) a future employer was googling them, nonsense posted on a forum did not show up as the top result.
Fine if you're called John Smith, but less so if you've got my name or Gev's, which are less common.
So if people do choose to use a forum alias, that should be respected and they should not be "outed" on the forum.

Yes, the database is running so slowly that it's very hard to log in. I will take a look but it might take a while to fix.
