Guest Duels

Post by Charlie Reams »

So I need a little more time to get the new Duels together and the current run of scheduled Duels is about to expire, so I need to bridge the gap. I thought a fun way to do this might be to have a week or two of Duels hand-crafted by whoever feels like it. You can specify as much or as little as you like, from the basics like variant and time per round, right down to laying out the individual selections and conundrums if that's what you want to do. And if you want to break the rules of the genre, that's totally cool, I'll do whatever I can to accommodate you. It's up to you.

So, if you want to do one, please reply to this post. Then, as soon as you can, send me an email (charlie@apterous.org) or a PM with the details of your personalized Duel. You'll be credited on the site and maybe we'll have a little poll at the end to see whose was coolest, or something.

If we have way more people than places then we might do a random draw or something, but for the first week it'll be first-come first-served. So get on it.

PM sent, Charlie. If my suggestion gets used, I expect to be roundly cursed by all who attempt it (including myself)...

Yeah, I'll give it a go. No prizes for guessing what dictionary'll be specified in my duel...

Also have PMified an idea. It is of poor quality, though, so don't get excited.

I quite enjoyed yesterday's duel. Although I'd never thought of doing it backwards before, it was surprisingly enjoyable, although it was difficult to get going at first. I didn't come first either, but then that's no surprise 8-)

Not really. I did all the ones that didn't require me to write loads of extra code. I've got them all archived though, so maybe one day.

So, basically, something from the "custom game" list is what you did.

And seeing that we have never had a Spoilage duel, can we just have one? Please?

Charlie makes one as he is the owner and is clever with code.
