Characters you'd like to see

Post by Charlie Reams »

It's now quite easy for us to add new guests, lexicographers, hosts and so on, so I thought I'd open it up to your suggestions. They don't necessarily have to be people who've actually been on the show, but it's good if they have some kind of interesting quirks or verbal style to distinguish them from all the existing characters, or if it's just someone who you really like on the show, that's fine too.

Go on, shoot.

Also, if anyone wants a go at writing the dialogue themselves, here's the Spindlomatic tool we use. It's fairly straightforward and I can correct any mistakes you make, so have a go.

Homer Simpson, though you might have to add some code to check that he's not in the chair when Kai is playing to avoid allegations of nepotism.

Is there a way of checking to see who's already in the game before adding a character?

No, but feel free to ask me or look through some recaps.

It's a bit of a running joke, from the time when she was being suggested as the new Carol.

Are you being serious? I clicked on whatever was there to click on (presumably "save") and it came up with some message saying that it would be looked at or something or other.

Failing that... Brian Cant? ("Give us a P... L... A... etc", you need to be a certain age to get this)

Bob Holness? ("I'll have an E please Bob"... again, certain age...)

Or what about Jeremy Paxton?

I've been meaning to ask this for a while but have only just got around to it. I keep having games where the host is somebody called John Bigglesworth whose distinguishing features are that he cannot spell and has a small dog as an avatar. Why?

I thought maybe it was some well-known character whose existence hadn't registered on my cultural radar, but I just Googled 'John Bigglesworth' and am still none the wiser.

Like I said, why?

No - why is he called John Bigglesworth and why is he a dog? Is he just some random combination of name, species and speech traits that you threw together? Or is he actually supposed to be based on someone?

That's Ralph Wiggum (no S). There are lots of websites with Ralph quotes - one of my favourites is: "Your toys are fun to touch. Mine are all sticky."

I put one in for Professor Farnsworth from Futurama a while back, but for whatever reason it wasn't put on. Similar characters would also be cool but they take a lot of effort to dig proper quotes out for.
