CoC 'Team'

Post by James Hurrell »

Apologies to anyone that might have been unfortunate enough to play either myself or Charlie on Apterous from Sunday 7th - Tuesday 9th Dec.

You happened to be playing against the cream of the CoC and therefore may have received an absolute spanking (unless you're Paul Howe).

Good boost to my flagging rating though ;)

A fair admission. It should be pointed out that Paul still spanked us at Goatdown, twice, and that was with about nine of us playing.

lolz

That's what you get for trusting an Irishman. Although to be fair they seem to be rather good at Countdown.

I've played (and lost to) Paul many a time but TAMANDUA is something else.

TAMANDUA is something that A. Prime has mugged me with before after I picked A for ADAMANT, so it was nice to throw it back in someone else's face  Another particularly irritating instance of this was me picking O for OOLOGIST only for Prime to offer OTOLOGIST.

Playing prime is good for learning stems like this however a) I care about my rating and b) I don't want my confidence knocked.
I might start practising lots against prime to save my rating - the only problem is then I can't brag about anything decent.

And here's the game in question, thanks to the snazzy new word search feature.

Kirk, I would highly encourage you to goatdown with Prime, pretty much every round is like a conundrum due its stupendous word picking ability, you'll learn a lot of new vocab, you'll gain confidence when you manage to beat it, and it's just great fun. Seems a shame to miss out on for the sake of a few rating points.
