Apterous Champions League Tables

Post by Jack Worsley »

This thread will be used to keep track of the group tables for the Champions League tourney. http://www.apterous.org/to_tourney.php?tourney=1316 Remember, the top two qualify and the third-placed player will enter the Europa League. It's three points for a win and one for a draw, as per real life. For two or more players on an equal number of points, the following tiebreak criteria will be used:

1. higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the players in question;
2. superior goal difference from the group matches played among the players in question;
3. higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the players in question;
4. higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question;
5. If, after applying criteria 1 to 4 to several players, two players still have an equal ranking, criteria 1 to 4 are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the two players in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria 6 to 8 apply;
6. superior goal difference from all group matches played;
7. higher number of goals scored from all group matches played;
8. a single conundrum play-off between the players in question will be arranged, although I doubt it will come to this.

Remember that only rounds won will be classed as goals, not rounds drawn.
