Well if you're posting that, I'll add:

Round 14: 25, 100, 50, 10, 2, 3. Target: 789.

C1: 790. (100+50+3) = 153 (0)

;)

This was all part of my subtle plot to make Corby look like an idiot. It seems to have backfired.

Corby, what a game. There were some misses like TREENAIL which are common lettered words but you spotted FOOTPAD, CREOLISED, PARTISAN? That's awesome. Just thought it needed a mention as I was impressed.

Me too. Should have spotted Partisan but I'd never have got Creolised and would never have declared it if I had!

Well done Jon.

Yes great stuff Corby  ... you'd have beaten me. Shame you're not still in the main competition - what is it with this COOT that all the fancied players seem to be getting knocked out early? Will it be me next :( Probably, because I had a real mare 'playing along' with this recap... I missed all sorts. But there were some really hard rounds in there, so Corby's performance was all the more impressive. Corby for Plate '08!

Cheers Julian, although there were quite a few misses in there tbf (I should spot stuff like TREENAIL, but I get more annoyed when everyday words like LETTUCE pass me by) and no bullseyes on any of three doable numbers, so let's not go overboard here!

I'm a little disappointed though that the recap makes no mention of the highlight of the game, that being the hilarious practical joke I pulled in round 7 while choosing the letters.

We should start a petition for all decent losing first-timers to get a second chance on the show. Quality players like Karen, Kirk and jason Witcher should have a chance to redeem themselves as I believe they would have won at least one if they all got easier run ins :D

Yeah definitely - don't get disheartened Karen, keep playing the way you did against me and you'll soon start piling up the wins.

(Also I'm going to bribe whoever's in charge of the next tournament to give you an easier draw :) )
