Countdown in Dublin #4 29th September 2018

Post by Edward Byrne »

Date: Saturday 29th September 2018
Venue: JW Sweetmans, 1-2 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2.
Admission: €20
Start time: Doors open 10.30am for 11am start
Presented by: Eddy Byrne
Finishes by: 6pm
Wheelchair accessible?: No

Dublin has a lot to offer — treat yourself to a cold one in the Guinness Brewery, check out the bustling night life in Temple Bar, take an open top bus tour of the Fair City, and of course… play Countdown!

This year we will be moving to a new venue in the heart of Dublin city centre — J.W. Sweetmans, 1-2 Burgh Quay — on Saturday 29th September. Doors open at 10.30am for an 11am kick off, and the event will finish by 6pm.
Format
We will use the Bristol classroom method with big screen graphics, playing at least eight 9-round games — more if time will allow.

Admission
Entry is €20, payable by PayPal to Annalisa Byrne. For any further information please email Eddy at edburn07@gmail.com or ring +353 (0)8 72 58 23 94.

How do I get there?
The venue is really well served by public transport. The Aircoach goes from outside the front door of Dublin Airport and stops on Westmoreland Street, just beside the venue. If you are thinking of flying over from Great Britain, Dublin is served from airports in England, Scotland and Wales.

JW Sweetmans is well served by the LUAS tram network with a stop on Westmoreland Street.

Staying over?
As you’d expect in any capital city, there is a wealth of guesthouses and hotels. We don’t have any to recommend particularly, but if you need any pointers, drop us a note and we’ll see if we can help: focalcountdown@gmail.com.
