Having had a message last year that the version of Java I had was insecure, I removed it. Subsequently whenever I try to install the latest version, it gets as far as the 'installing' frame but no green dots appear in the 'progress' panel, and after a little while I get the message that installation...

Susie misremembered - it's muriatic acid, not muric. In fact, a muriate is an obsolete term for a chloride, for the same historic reason that hydrogen ought really to be called oxygen.

In R9, all that's needed is to insert the operators without having to rearrange the numbers (or insert brackets): 9x6x2x5+7-6 :)
