Funnily enough, my Dad brought up this issue just the other day. As a non-Apterite, he didn't exactly say it had killed Countdown but he did say if 'all your lot' are on the show it probably means in future quarter-finals will be dominated by Apterites, which arguably is a bit unfair on non-Apterite...

Managed to hit a 125, having only got 2 of the nines. I wonder why, though, when Jackie said (50+2), she didn't just make up the 1 need to knock off 260 on the spot? With a 7 and a 6, it was very easily workable as you went along.
