RUNNABLE in round 5 as a beater. (I shouldn't have to say it's a beater but people have got into the habit of posting equallers without qualification as if that's somehow acceptable so it might not be clear.)

If it had travelled 199991 miles, then after another 11 it would be on 200002 (also palindromic). Then after another 17 miles, it would be on 200019, but you didn't specify that this number had to be palindromic. Another 9993 miles later and it will be 210012. So the answer is 200019.

I think I'm right in saying Ian won when no U appeared in the round with the Q [4th from end] as it was then impossible for his opponent to get the 9 he needed. Something that's often confused me is hyphen usage. I was looking into this and if you have a "compound adjective" before a noun you connect all the bits with hyphens except adverbs that end in -ly and the word "very". So you'd have a "piss-poor car", or a "very po...

Also, the thing about getting £27,000 for losing in the first round would be better stated as £27,000 for making it to Wimbledon. The losing finalist will get loads, but it's not the act of losing that has earnt* them the money.
