The PM does not need parliamentary approval to trigger aricle 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. That will start, most likely, in October 2016. There won't be a general election until 2020, by which time we're out anyway.

Of course, had the Scots voted for independence in 2014 the government might have had the chutzpah to say "This was never a mandatory referendum, only advisory".

Odds Comparison gave 10/1 for a 2016 Cameron exit at William Hill in February, but when I tried to put a bet on their website it didn't allow it. How much did you try to have on? The market for politics bets on William Hill is probably quite small so very low limits! A fiver, I think, possibly £10.

Not just TV but also music. All the stars of the 1960s are 70+ now. How so many of the Rolling Stones are still alive is a mystery. Chuck Berry turns 90 this year, and his death would be on a par with Bowie, at least.

Although I think the EU is hardly perfect, it does provide checks and balances that stop the current Conservative government basically just doing what the fuck they want. In a parliamentary democracy the party with a mandated majority have the right to do "what the fuck they want", surely...

Thanks for all the messages of support everyone. I don't think it was fatigue, so I'm not going to blame that. I think I always knew that I had at least one bad game in me.
