Yeah, but plenty of series have had more than one 800 octochamp, so therefore plenty of 800 octochamps have not won the series. You can argue it both ways. Personally, i don't think the total combined scores of a multi-show winner really mean that much. There are so many other factors to take into ...

I was actually talking about average score rather than ratings. We need recaps of JF's octochamp run, particularly the 138-29 which might have fulfilled that criterion (I know for sure he cocked up the final numbers so didn't score there, so was therefore 99+ ahead after round 13).

I just put up with it and try to stick to people I know. Generally speaking, the best attitude towards this sort of thing. I rarely play on isc nowadays- the official facebook scrabble game has me hooked- but when I do I never play anyone outside my friends list, or who isn't an ABSP member/regular...

http://www.centrestar.co.uk has a good archive of move-by-move games between top players- nothing on live coverage yet, though that's not to say it won't be there in the future (certainly it handled the NSC final more thn adequately).

I'm slightly luckier in that the East Midlands are an absolute hot bed of Scrabble activity- unfortunately it also means that whilst I'd be a local expert in some places, here I'm a little lower in the food chain.
