Why do F1 commentators refer to the starting grid as being formed in rows of 2 when they are clearly rows of 1? The car starting 2nd is as far behind pole as it is ahead of the car starting 3rd.

The javelin record used to be well over 100m. I kind of lost interest once it became obvious that the IAAF thought that steeplechasers being speared by javelins might not be in the best interests of the sport.

Edwards' 18.29 was well behind the line, at least 10cm I would say. It's a shame his 18.43 was non legal for wind (2.4 ish I think), I wonder how much difference that really made. Either way I definitely think his world record doesn't quite do him justice, and am surprised it still stands today.
