They used to have TEAROOMS as a single word didn't they?
What are the rules that govern whether a word stays a single word or broken into two words/hyphened and vice-versa?

Re: A new telly show.
Ironically, I was trying to look for clips of the new Going for Gold today, but the person who had those clips up had their account removed from Youtube! Out of embarassment no doubt. ;) It really seems cheaply put together, I mean the original wasn't big budget or anything but it was way better th...

Re: Eggheads
Kevin told us that they are not paid a fee for appearing on EH and they only get prize money if they win, so that helps to explain why they take it so seriously. I thought they were paid a fee, even more kudos to the Eggheads for doing this then. So do they split £1000 each day between them when th...

The new Going for Gold is spoilt by countless phone-in competitions and reminders of the phone number. It's just a money making vehicle.
What used to be a great quiz (with Henry Kelly on the BEEB) has been ruined by channel 5/FIVE.

Yeah Allan, I remember the episode with the second Kevin Ashman, bit surprised to hear Dermot didn't take time out to talk with you contestants or make you welcome, seemed like a decent bloke. Anyone else a fan of this quiz show?
I wonder how the legend Kevin Ashman would fare on Countdown, he's nailed Mastermind, 15-to-1, world quiz championship etc etc. Also would be fun to see the infamous CJ on Countdown.

To be quite honest, I can't remember what I was thinking. Neil, you seemed a bit miffed after the last numbers game when you said you had got the numbers the same way as Anita, was it because you thought you should have been asked first as you didn't have it written down (or maybe you did but it was edited) or was it because you were miffed because you tho...

Excellent game. Well played Neil and Anita. They should give Anita another go in the future I reckon with that high losing score. I always wondered how do they set up the matches so that an eg. We worked out on the original talk 4 forum that if there was another supreme championship it'd have been scheduled for 2012 (series 66) though Damian has been making rather negative noises regarding not only another supreme championship (understandable- it'd be a logistical nightmare) but also more...

Re: Countdown Personal Bests?
(Mild spoiler) It's really not that simple, because the contestants in the studio don't know what you're declaring at home. Craig Beevers who used to declare seven a lot if his opponent declared six, but in reality he'd have risked an eight if his opponent had done the same. If I'm at home and I se...
