I just can't see the top 8 caring enough to go to a specific event with 8 people, let alone any spectators. You might get a few.. but if it's rolled into the Hangover, people who are in the top 8 will probably already be in town, and people outside the top 8 may even be more keen to stick around for...

The 8-thing could take place alongside the Hangover? Guarantees spectators, gives the 8 the best chance to actually be there without increasing their costs, assuming they would've gone anyway. No extra costs involved for anyone.
