Re: When Countdown episodes run out
Hi all, I think I can resolve the mystery of today’s episode for you, in a slightly disappointing manner. Basically, although he’s ok, Chris put in a request that his two games not be reshown for personal reasons. Obviously it was a big ask, so he’s grateful to the producers for their understanding ...

The trailer shows Richard Stilgoe holding up a card with a jocular 9 letter nonword, which fits perfectly with the details we know about July 3rd 1991 (Season 22 Ep 3).

What's the 'THING' about series 54 then??? I can do this one! It contains a highly unusual sequence where, after Matthew Shore's Octochamp run ended, none of the next 18 champions reached the series finals. 16 seeds is probably too much, and a 1 vs. 16 match would realistically add very little to the tournament. Might be nice to fill out the finals to exactly two recording days though, by having evenly matched 8 vs. 9, 7 vs. 10 and possibly 6 vs. 11 as preliminary play-ins for a place in the quarter-fi...

Pleased but worried by this. I'm pleased because I've got my logical hat on, and if C4 wants to increase the amount of commercial time then it presumably means they're having no problems selling the slots - that's got to be reassuring for the long term health of the show.
