Back in the 80s there was a game show called Ultra Quiz - each episode had 1000 players. They've been doing zoom auditions for a little while now, which must reduce the likelihood of cheating, as well as perhaps coming closer to studio pressure, so will be interesting to see if the standard generally improves and there's fewer of the "how did they pass" type contestants.
