This game proved imo that it is not always about the scores to produce a good game. Both decent players playing in good spirit, plus a last minute buzz at the end led me to think Andy had it. Good entertainment!

Just a quick irrelevant Q: Who was the DC guest for the final day of recordings (a.k.a today's) - Wiki states Jon Culshaw but the ticket states and has stated for a while that it was Rufus Hound. Good quality game there. Feel for Tealin a bit as he is unlucky to lose on 87, and could have definitely gone on to win a few more, but those small letters errors cost him in the end, as it could have easily been a losing score of 95-100+ for him without them. But Mike starts off with a strong score...

Congrats to Robin- a well deserved octochamp. But commiserations to Matt, for the majority of the game it was very strong play by both (especially on the letters front), and the scoreline did seem harsh at the end. Game 8 for Robin. Can he break the history books for the lowest debut score of an octochamp in this modern day format, or will he join the likes of Bob Lunt or Lewis Carson in the 7 wins club. Either way he deserves to make it to the final based on what we have seen so far, so you never know....!

I only have one thing to say today: Rachel's comment on "kicking youselves" in R9 shouldn't be really applied in this sort of situation (I mean, the average contestant won't think of 18 x 51 immediately...

Despite getting his lowest score today, Tony had the most maxes in his run so far. Felt for his opponent as he is probably one of those decent home players, but studio pressure got to him today.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but do I have to state a specific number for the margin, e.g. X beats Y by 9 pts, or can I give a region, e.g. X beats Y by between 5-10 pts?

Also had Primmed in Round 1, did doubt it a bit, but was a tad surprised that it was not raised by DC considering Primed was spotted (by one of the players I think).

The regular Nick statement "2 good players" did resonate today , and felt for Paul as he would have probably seen off Adam off. Tony seemed like a good all rounder- maybe he will octo and we will see the series standard increase... Luck of the draw though!
