David hasn't half had some close runs! Made for good television, though. He has had his strong conundrum game to thank. Found the handshake gesture at the end rather amusing- guess it's default for some contestants to offer a handshake at the end, but not the best idea given the climate then!

I think he buzzed in thinking he had the answer, then realised he was wrong and tried to fudge things, it feels to me as if 1.25 secs is a bit late for a "Hansford", unless what he did factors in as doing one. I always thought it was about buzzing in immediately, and then attempting an answer.

To offer assistance- Ciaran Thompson I'm pretty sure was a Brummie and I believe Chris Kilbride was British too. Gyles Brandreth shook my hand when I was about 9 or 10 years old when he switched the Christmas lights on in my town. He was actually quite nice and pleasant, though.
