Re: The Countdown Android App is now out!

Been getting some dodgy game ads recently. (now is when Jack tells me they're based on cookies...)

Re: Colin Murray as Host (pros and cons)

he shows the right amount of enthusiasm for a knockout tournament, but it's maybe a little OTT if 2 new contestants are playing Yes, this is close to my take too. I thought he was excellent in the Christmas special episodes - fun, friendly and obviously had a genuine love for the game and awe for t...

Re: Greatest Televised Game - The Poll!

It's Zarte v Tom Carey for me. There was definite emotion in there with Zarte going for a record/max + Tom knowing he was potentially going to deny his friend with his 9 (TIRAMISUS). The fact Zarte still managed the record was top class

That is an amazing gesture from Phil/Supee. Charlie - is there any specific or non-specific help that members of the C4C/Apterous community can provide with respect to the rebuild?

This is great Tom. I was considering trying to do something similar a few weeks back as part of my efforts to learn R, but couldn't raise the effort to scrape the data - what did you use for that piece?

Not according to lex - possibly existed in the past.

NOISOME is valid - MOONIES is my falsie, having misdeclared it in the past. fwiw, MOONY, MOONING and MOONERS are valid. Really can't see why MOONIES isn't.

Another amazing performance. As has already been mentioned, it looks like the 1000 barrier could be smashed so hard, the 1100s are a real possibility. Average of 141 required over the next 3 games. Will be a tough task, more so due to the chances of selections being kind to it as opposed to ability ...

Re: Spoilers for Tuesday 14th May 2019 (Series 80, Prelim 80)

he could be up against someone potentially extremely good in the near future. Potentially :D Bet Elliott wished he'd been involved in this game. Even matching the contestants as opposed to finding difficult maxes in R2 + R13 would have given a total of 153 - Zarte's record would have been short-liv...

ALBUMEN for 7 in the same round, which I was quite surprised Susie didn't get. I'd have blown it with EARGASM in the previous round though.

Well played by Bradley under pressure at the end.

Surprised Susie didn't spot OPTICIAN in R5. Missed all 6s in R7  and CALENDAR, although did get TRUNDLED, RIPOSTES + SUNDIAL. In agreement the contestants were of a higher average calibre than a lot who have appeared this series - how often do both post 80+ before the finals, and both without ...

Felt sorry for Moose after an outstanding semi-final performance + series in general. Deserved win by Stephen though - congrats!

Alt 3rd numbers (if you're inclined to miss the simple solution!): (8 * 7) + 25 + 9 + 7 + 100 = 197
