Re: C4C/apto/Countdown Dreams

Had a brief one last night where Innis Carson had been allowed back on to Countdown (hey, maybe there's hope for James Robinson yet...). Think he struggled to a win against the champion, mainly due to losing some rounds due to lack of knowledge of new words. Then either I forgot what happens or woke...

Excellent score today by Philip, and very fast con too - not many could have had a chance on that!

Might be a risky thing to put down your pen after a while in the numbers round though...if I saw someone doing that I'd definitely start looking for a simpler method.

John Cowen- yes, he was largely inconsistent at times, but had Brad lost his QF, I am sure John would have stormed through to the final and would have produced a very close game against Tom. Re: Spoilers for Tuesday 16th January 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 6)

Surprised Susie didn't extend Mary's NOTATE to ANNOTATE in R1. Bad miss! I was doubting as to whether I was seeing a phantom letter there :D I doubt she missed it - she likely just didn't want to embarrass Mary and so withheld it. If she did miss it though then meh, it's much easier to do sat at ho...

Re: Spoilers for Monday 15th January 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 5)

LOWAGER in R13...what a shame Jacob fell at the last hurdle! The episode was recorded at about 2030hrs-ish back on Monday, 23 October 2017 so yeah maybe that explains why... Hate to disappoint but no lowager....LOWAGES though. Does anyone else ever think it'd be amusing if they invited all those gu...

Very horrendous rounds today - a max of only 118, which I would have got had I seen QUIRLED and not gone for the invalid CLIQUED:(

Also, when Susie says "I think there might be an X...I'll have another look" does she ever actually do this or is it just to save face at the fact there might be an obvious word she's missed? I've never seen them pan back to her.

Can anyone explain to me why ROMANITE and TIMEOUT are allowed? Because ROMANITE has a capital R and TIMEOUT is two separate words.
The free dictionary is not really the best source to check dodgy words. I'd just stick to apterous as a source in future ;)

VOLUMED for Round 2...surprising DC missed this. I risked that one though... I considered this strongly but bottled it to be honest. Gonna mention that my dad found RHEOSTAT before me, which is an impressive spot for someone who doesn't practise at all save watching the show in an evening. He's get...
