People don't necessarily actively complain but I get the feeling that 14-rounders aren't the most popular. They're certainly not my first choice.

I think 15-rounders for normal play can seem a bit much. A bit intense maybe playing the same person for that amount of time.

It could be argued that Capital Gains sometimes come in the form of risky investments (similar to gambling which is not taxed) so the tax on that should take into account the expected gains rather than just the actual gains. Though it would be very different for different investments so probably not...

I would say driving in and out of the forecourt is more dangerous than using your phone. They should have a rule where you have to stop 50 metres away and push your car in. All that combustion going on...
