Re: Spoilers for Friday 20th December 2019 (Series 81, GRAND FINAL)

Yep really enjoyable series and congrats to all the finalists - tis was good stuff. The correct 2 in the final and a very worthy winner in the human calculator himself Mr Haughton! Definitely the best player in the series and nice that we also got a chance to see a few 4L tricks in action :-) Oh, an...

Yeah I had that too.

Well done to series 82 champion Luke Johnson-Davies on his 5th win.
Ah you never know who may appear...

But would take one hell of a performance to stop him - this is very true.

I'm going to enjoy watching all your max games Tony if you go back on the show...

Thought that was another silky smooth performance from LJD - misses so little. You'll be christened LJD bot if you carry at this rate :-)

Re: Spoilers for Monday 9th December (Series 81, Prelim 115)

I think he should probably take a bit more time over the conundrums though. Most opponents won't get them that quickly so it's worth making sure it's correct before buzzing! I think he's still in apterous mode (where u do basically have to buzz in a second generally, and he generally does get it ri...

My top 10 ever contestants are Zarte Siempre-He is flipping unbelievable. Elliott Mellor (The Mellobot)-He is great and unlucky not to win his series. Re: Spoilers for Tuesday 22nd January 2019 (CoC XV, Grand Final)

Fantastic mini series - loved it. Congrats Bra on a superb campaign - atheroma was a thing of beauty of course. And you got to converse with Rachel for a bit so you're a winner there. Zarte's supreme all round game just proved too strong on this occasion, but what an achievement to get to the final,...

Wowza!! I wasn't intending to really comment after CoC had finished but how fantastic was that!?! You know it's going to be good when one of my friends (who's on holiday in Spain) screenshot me a picture of the final scores when I was at work - apparently Spanish telly has some British channels. I'd just like to echo what's already been said on here so far.

Absolutely amazing final and an incredible standard played in brilliant spirits.

Just simply one of the best ive seen - Philip in sensational form and Zarte basically being Zarte.

A third encounter in CoC!?! Lets make it happen lads....

I have just discovered this thread! I have a fun hour ahead, particularly reviewing Ben and Mellbot's shenanigans. Timely as I had my first apto dream a couple of nights ago - Chris Hare was playing Ronnie O'Sullivan at snooker. I assumed he was getting destroyed but it was actually something like 7...

Re: Spoilers for Monday 12th March 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 45)

I bet Zarte was annoyed by missing that numbers game - 837 was possible (25-(2x7))x75+2x6 - but I got the 836 without factoring in the 2 times: (2x6x75)-((25+7)x2) The 7 points would have equalled Dylan's 974 run and the 10 beaten it (who of course beat Zarte last time round). Im sure Zarte really ...

Brilliant performance (again) Z man well done :-) Does anyone feel like a Birdman (mini) rant? If you do, you're in luck! Anyway... I sometimes feel like the priorities of the spoiler threads are somewhat incorrect. Zarte nails 130 (including a word which was unpencilled on apterous at the time) and...

I don't think Stephen Briggs used apterous at all so he'd have to get my vote. Incredibly consistent. Interestingly Stephen plays in the Birmingham chess league that i play in and is good...very darn good! I think with John C there's a distinction between TALENT and overall game performance. Re: Spoilers for Wednesday 20th December 2017 (Series 77, SF1)

Interestingly, Tom's 134 comes almost exactly 2 years to the day that Jonathan Wynn compiled his 134, also in his semi final (on 22/12/2015). For almost 2 years no one matched or beat this. Seeing as it wasn't the exact day, high scores will often be achieved by the best players, finals are always ...

Particularly impressive was beating Tom S playing from home!
