I agree. I also wouldn't waste much time with anyone who believes that something written in a book is hard evidence. Believing everything in a book merely because it was written so long ago that nobody knows who was involved in its creation is totally counter-intuitive.

A couple of days ago I wrote “The argument for a deity is of the exact same robustness.”
It has been pointed out to me that this is not true. The argument for a deity is far less robust that that for the orbiting teapot: Countdown teapots are known to exist.

I entirely agree with your argument. For the record, I am of the "there is definitely no god" persuasion: there has never, ever, been any credible evidence to suggest there was. Millennia of misguided humans claiming otherwise is not evidence.

The Guardian article refers to “being able to prove Morgan did not believe in her own abilities”. I would think “getting information through an earpiece” would go a long way towards that. James Randi has a noble history of exposing such people.

In WIndows 7, whenever I move a window and it touches the top of the screen the system takes over and full-screens it. This is never what I want and is driving me mad. Does anybody know a way of configuring it, or killing it outright?

Not so much trending, more old hat. But it was interesting to see that Peter Mandelson being gay is somehow relevant to Countdown's astonishing use of earpieces. Or maybe the connection is just that Matthew Parris has very acute hearing?

It seems to be a "known issue". Word has to be run with admin privileges in order to put the registration into the registry. Then you can take them off again. I still don't know what caused the problem, but I have managed to clear it.

I don't think he has settled down yet. The mentor from the Apprentice still shows through, he is rather confrontational and very direct with the candidates (even more so with personable champions), which I think would make me uncomfortable. But he is not so terrible that he is dragging the game down...

I already tried removing the device and (on a separate occasion) deinstalling the driver, but both times I was then unable to persuade Windows to find the device or accept the driver.
