Keith Bennett posted in one of those threads as well - the same Keith Bennett that's on here? I don't know, but it's amusing to see that he thought Richard Stilgoe was dead 20 years ago! Still very much alive at the age of 73. (Although Spike Milligan and Michael Bentine have both sadly passed away...

Clearly it comes in useful if you ever get a target of 937.5 :) I'm just guessing, but I presume the idea is that if you're given a target close to that number, and you've got four large numbers, and one of the small numbers is odd, then you can adjust the 937.5 value appropriately. DANGLER doesn't give you any stations at all. For a word to produce a tubewhack there has to be a unique station containing no letters from that word. So DANGLE gives you Bow Church.
Incidentally, I'm told that the list of stations on that site is out of date, but it'll do for now.

I was initially puzzled by that as well. One obvious way of doing it is (100 x (9 + (1/2))) + 4, but the rules don't permit it and there's no simple way of transforming it to a method that doesn't use fractions. What, like (100+4+2)*9 ?
