Has any champion got less than 100 before over their reign? I was thinking the exact same thing too. I'm pretty certain it's a no, in terms of 15-rounders. It's a mass noun in all senses in ODE2r as well, and PIRACIES doesn't seem to have been expressly allowed on the show before, so I can't see why it's allowed on apterous.

Agree with all of that, although personally I would give going with a more commonly used word even higher priority (although obviously never at the expense of score). It's just nicer I think, makes it feel more like a word game rather than a symbols game, even if this is a delusion.

On the random vs seeded thing (dunno if you said above which is gonna happen, CBA reading through) I think random would be best tbh.
